HygenAir - Hygienic Air Handlers

Colmac Coil HygenAir™ A+H Hygienic Air Units are engineered to help food processing and packaging facilities maintain controlled, sanitary, and efficient production environments. Designed for rooftop installation, HygenAir™ units condition and deliver air to processing rooms while managing four critical functions: temperature control, humidity control, room pressurization, and airborne contaminant filtration.

By removing HVAC equipment from the processing space, HygenAir™ units support cleaner room designs, simplify sanitation procedures, and help reduce the risk of airborne contamination. The result is a robust hygienic air handling solution for facilities focused on food safety, product quality, worker comfort, and operational reliability.

HygenAir™ A+H units are suitable for a wide range of food processing applications, including meat, poultry, dairy, bakery, deli products, prepared foods, and packaging operations.

Purpose-Built for Hygienic Processing Rooms

Food processing environments present demanding air handling requirements. High humidity can contribute to condensation and mold growth, air migration can introduce contaminants from adjacent spaces, and changing process loads, sanitation cycles, and product temperature requirements must be controlled reliably.

HygenAir™ A+H Hygienic Air Units are engineered as a high-performance alternative to traditional ceiling-hung air units by locating air handling equipment outside the processing space, typically in a rooftop-mounted configuration. This helps simplify sanitation, improve access for maintenance, and reduce equipment exposure within the hygienic production area.

To support hygienic room operation, HygenAir™ A+H units provide precise temperature management, humidity control, airborne contaminant filtration, room pressurization, and sanitation/purge operation. Integrated cooling and reheat capability helps maintain room temperature and reduce moisture in the air, while multi-stage filtration captures airborne particles from outdoor and recirculated air before supply air is delivered back to the processing space. Controlled outdoor air introduction helps maintain positive room pressure and reduce air migration from adjacent areas, and a 100% outdoor air purge cycle can be used to support sanitation procedures.
