A+ Series® Air Coolers - Industrial Air Coolers - A+R

Above-Rail Evaporator

Designed specifically for food processing rooms where cleanability, worker comfort, and usable workspace are critical, Colmac Coil A+R Air Coolers use an above-rail configuration to keep refrigeration equipment overhead while providing effective air distribution throughout the conditioned space.

Available in both standard and low-profile configurations, the A+R combines hygienic materials, full access to the coil core, low installation heights, and optional Clean-In-Place technology to support demanding food processing and washdown environments.

Standard A+R units are available in capacities from 3 to 25 TR with 1–8 fan configurations.

The A+R is purpose-built for refrigerated processing spaces where sanitation requirements, employee comfort, equipment access, and available workspace all influence evaporator design.

Key Benefits

  • Above-rail configuration maximizes usable processing space

  • Standard and low-profile configurations available

  • Capacity range from 3–25 TR

  • 1–8 fan configurations

  • Hygienic stainless steel construction options

  • Full-coverage insulated drain pan

  • Hinged access panels on both sides

  • Optional Clean-In-Place piping

  • Passivated welds for hygienic applications

  • Washdown-duty motors available

  • Fan speeds optimized for reduced sound pressure

Standard and Low-Profile Configurations

A+R Standard

  • The standard A+R is designed for food processing rooms requiring high cooling capacity, effective air distribution, and convenient service access.

  • Typical installation height: approximately 30–50 inches

  • Capacity: 3–25 TR

  • Fans: 1–8

A+R Low Profile

  • Developed for processing spaces with extremely limited overhead clearance, the A+R Low Profile reduces overall installation height while maintaining the hygienic above-rail concept.

  • Installation height: approximately 20–30 inches

  • Fan rows: 2–6

  • The low-profile configuration uses 1/4 hp bolted 48-frame motors and is available for applications where minimizing equipment height is the primary design constraint.
